What do I do now?

Whilst we stand by our choice of pest control treatments, there are things that you can do at home to make sure you receive optimum results.

Before our technician arrives:

  • For all treatments always put away food displays or fruit bowls, crockery and cutlery, cooking utensils, bar soap, hairbrushes and toothbrushes.
  • Make sure pets are outside and aquariums are covered.
  • Make sure children’s toys are put away or covered.
  • Stay out of the house for 4 hours after the interior treatment has been completed.
  • Put the toilet seat down and put away toilet paper.
  • Make sure that all windows are closed
  • Cover pillows, cushions, and throw blankets
  • Empty pet dishes
  • Fish filters must be turned off for 2 hours
  • Do not wipe away spider webs before we arrive if you are having a spider treatment done
  • Do not water blast 24 hours before our arrival as our sprays will have difficulty adhering to the exterior cladding and/or decks of your home

When you return home (after the 4 hour recommended evacuation time):

  • Open all windows and doors to allow your home to properly ventilate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Wait 2 weeks before washing windows, decks, guttering, or carports.
  • Wait 2 weeks before water blasting the exterior of your home.
  • Wipe down horizontal surfaces (eg. kitchen, bathroom vanities, entertainment units, tables, etc).
  • Hot wash any exposed bedding, manchester, towels, etc.
  • Wash children’s toys, all dishes, and pet bowls thoroughly.
  • For flea treatments, lightly go over carpet areas with a soft broom or vacuum brush attachment (with vacuum switched off)  to stimulate the carpet fibres.
  • For flea treatment- wait 4 days before vacuuming.

I know this can be a lot to remember, so feel free to ask one of our friendly and informative technicians for a printed copy of this list, the next time we’re at your place.
